Orthodox Theological Seminary

The first Orthodox Christian school of theology in Asia, the Orthodox THE ORTHODOX THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY (OLD SEMINARY) The first Orthodox Christian school of theology in Asia, the Orthodox Seminary, was founded in 1815 at Kottayam, in the state of Kerala (ancient Malabar) by Ramban Ittoop, a priest-monk of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

Thazhathangadi Juma Masjid

The Thazhathangadi Juma Masjid is one of the oldest mosques in India, believed to be over 1,000 years old. Located on the banks of the Meenachil River, it showcases traditional Kerala architecture with intricate wooden carvings, sloping roofs, and no domes or minarets—unlike typical mosques.

Kottayam Water Park

Anchu Vilakku

Anchuvilakku is a stone lamp post and a typical example of Kerala architecture, was built near the Changanacherry boat jetty by the renowned freedom fighter Veluthampi Dalawa. The Changanacherry or Changanassery market, one of the largest in Kerala, was also established by the freedom fighter. The five lamps on this post are lit using kerosene.

Malarickal - Kottayam
